Un paso adelante It is a cultural revitalization project promoted by the contemporary dance company Alicia Soto-Leaf Litter, Under the artistic direction of Alicia Soto, we were born with the purpose of decentralizing the performing arts and bringing the artistic avant-garde to municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants in Castilla y León, demonstrating that the rural environment is a living, creative stage with a future.
Our activity thrives thanks to the drive of Serrada, the host town that welcomes us, and proudly expands towards the neighboring municipalities of The Dry, Nava del Rey and Wheel.
Through the universal language of contemporary dance, movement arts, and technology, we break down the barriers of words to connect directly with people's emotions and strengthen community bonds.
How do we do it?
The soul of our project unfolds through unique themed editions. Each edition defines its own universe and articulates a program of activities adapted to the community:
- Training workshops for all ages.
- Creative and digital laboratories focused on youth and local community.
- Artistic Residencies that coexist with the territory.
- Exhibition of professional shows outdoors and in unique spaces.
A step forward is not just about culture; it is about economic activation, social encounter, modernization of ideas and, above all, a therapeutic and transformative tool for our people.
Our goals
- Decentralizing culture: democratize access to art outside of major cities.
- Create community: Strengthen the bonds between neighbors and promote emotional well-being through a shared artistic experience.
- Boosting the territory: to boost the local economy, employment and rural tourism.
- Uniting generations: to integrate children, young people and adults into common projects.
